WALKING
Jimmy sat on the floor, watching the feet moving around him.  With a childlike uncertainty he grabbed ahold of the table leg before him and pulled himself to his feet.  He stood swaying, lost his balance, and fell quite firmly back on his butt.  A woman near him extended a hand, telling him calmly to try again.  Taking her hand, Jimmy again rose to his feet.  Although swaying unsteadily, this time he kept his feet under him, and took a couple hesitant steps.  With a voice only mothers were known to possess, the woman encouraged him.
"Just a little further!  You can do it, just a little farther!"
He smiled a big goofy grin, feeling rather pleased with himself, although he couldnt' have said why.  Finally finding a hesitant sense of balance, he continued his slow unsteady walk.  After several steps, all of which threatened to dump him back to the floor, he stepped through a door.  A loud crash sounded.
"You gonna go check on him?"  A man asked from the sofa.
"Nah," The woman responded, plopping down on the sofa next to him.  "Let him sleep it off in there, at least he's out of the way."
The man chuckled, then went after another beer from the cooler.
My Stories

My Pictures
This was a school assignment from english composition.  What the teacher called a "word salon".  he'd assign us a word and we had to write a paragraph around it.  I did my best to have fun with them
