Every year on our Anniversary, Audrey has given me pink carnations.
It started on our one year anniversary when she gave me one single pink carnation.
Although we both love roses, Audrey wanted the flower to be different,
unique and more special.
She is not one to usually settle for the traditional gifts.
On our two year anniversary I received two pink carnations.
It has continued that way every year and so the carnation has sort of become our flower.
Well it turns out that the traditional meaning of
a pink carnation is "Woman's Love"
We have also seen other sites where it means "I'll Never Forget You"
Either way, on that one year anniversary,
when our love was still so new and in some ways uncertain,
Audrey showed up with a pink carnation
and I think it was the perfect choice.
