Q: Have you seen any good movies lately? A: I saw The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Hurricane, and The Green Mile for the best of the three. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Do you have any good stock tips? A: I like Cisco Systems a lot. Nortel Networks is also a good buy in my own opinion. Right now isn't a great time in terms of making a profit, unless you are looking long term. There is nothing short term that you want to be involved right now. This is because this time of year is slow, especially with communications and technology stocks, because a lot of those companies are going to have to clear inventory. So it will be a little slow for the moment, but overall the market will be fine. Long term investments are the way to go for right now. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Greg, as one of the elite defenders in the league, who is the most difficult guard you've had to D-up on this season? A: A couple of guys, Jason Kidd and Gary Payton are always difficult to maintain because they're so big and explosive. They are definitely the most difficult to guard, plus I play against them the most because they are in our division ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Do you still keep in touch with former teammates like Larry Johnson, George Ackles, Anderson Hunt? Do you know what Anderson Hunt is up to? A: I talked to George and Anderson this past summer before the season started and I've talked to LJ a couple of times. George is playing overseas. Anderson is ling in Detroit and is working with his brother in the computer business and is doing very well. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Why do you choose the number 50? A: It is the number I wore in high school and college and I won championships in both wearing the number 50. I fugured I'd give it a go wearing 50 in the pros. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What was it like playing in the NBA Finals in 1994 with the Knicks and how will that experience help if Portland reaches the Finals this season? A: I think everytime you have experience it helps. From the standpoint of going through and playing in the ultimate challenge of terms of the NBA Finals, it will definitely help me as well as the team collectively to have that experience of playing in the big game. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Hey Greg, I want to know what you would be doing if you weren't in the NBA? Thanks. A: I would either be an attorney practicing law or doing something in the financial business on Wall Street. That's what I'm in the process of starting now. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Greg, who is your favorite musical artist? A: Of all time, I have a few. My favorite artists are not contemporaries; Louis Armstong and Sam Cooke top my list. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q: It seems like the Blazers are playing cohesively as a unit than last year. Did the addition of some older players help with This? A: It helped a lot, not just because they are older, but because they have the experience. A guy like Scottie Pippen, he's won so many championships and that really helps us a lot. They bring a lot of leadership and a professional attitude and work ethic. They are a tremendousn addition to the team. |
