For the second straight season, Greg Anthony led the Grizzlies in steals and assists, playing 65 games, starting 44 of them. He missed 17 games due to back achilles and anckle injuries. Anthony was the NBA's 20th best playmaker, throwing 6.3 assists per game, and he ended 9th in steals, a career high 1.98 steals per game. This year Anthony was not the only star in the Grizzlies team. The Grizzlies drafted rookie-sensation Shareef Abdur-Rahim. With the coming of Abdur-Rahim, Greg's scoring dropped from 14.0, the team-high, to 95 points per game, and he just shot .393 from the field. But Greg did shot a career-high .370 from three-point range, 88 for 238. His 2.8 rebounds per game also represented a career-high. Three times, Greg scored a season high 24 points, including in a losed game in Seattle, in wich Greg still has the franchise record of most three-pointers in a game, with the number of 6, in just seven attempts. This season Greg led the Grizz in scoring only four times, but in assists 43 times, posting 10+ assists nine times, including a season high 13 against the Bulls. The 6 three-pointers in one game were not the only franchise-highs this season, for Greg. Greg set a franchise record 7 steals in one game, and matched it the following game!!!
