| 1994-1995 New York Knicks |
| This year was a little frustrated for Knicks point guard Greg Anthony. Greg couldn't be the Knicks starting playmaker, but worse was that, after three years of steady minutes as the New York Knicks primary reserve/starting guard, Greg saw his playing time drop in 1994-95 in favor of Hubert Davis. Anthony appeared in only 61 games, after in playing all but two games the season before, and for the first time in his NBA career he played fewer than 1,000 minutes. Greg only started the final two regulair season games, when starting point guard Derek Harper suffered an ankle injury. For the season, Anthony averaged 6.1 points and 2.6 assists, in oly 15.5 minutes per game. He ended on a strong note, averaging 12.1 points in a nine-game string in April. Although Greg saw limited playing time, Anthony showed improvement in his shooting. He posted a .437 field-goal pecentage, a career high, and a jump of 43 percentage points over the previous season. He also took adventage of the closer three-point line to record his best season to date from long range. A .245shooter from downtown in his previous three seasons combined, he stroked in threys at a .361 clip, knocking down 56 of 155 attempts. He also shot good from the free-throw line, logging a career-best percentage of .789. Greg ended the season with a streak of 22 free-throws without a miss. The Knicks took the second place in the Atlantic Division. In the play-offs, New York ousted the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, before falling to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. Anthony had a though series against Mark Price and the Cavs. He averaged 2.8 points while shooting .267 to the field and connecting on only 1 on 9 three-point attempts. He redeemed his own good self in Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers when he stepped in after Derek Harper was ejected and scored 15 points in only 20 minutes of action. He averaged 5.1 points per game in 7 contests against the Pacers. So Greg started the season slow, but at the and of the regulair season and in the play-offs, Greg played like he supposed to. |
