| 1992-1993 New York Knicks |
| This season would be one of Greg's best. The Knicks traded Mark Jackson to the LA Clippers in the off-season, bringing veteran point guard Doc Rivers to New York. So this season no starting spot for Greg. But Rivers and Anthony shared equally in the Knicks' playmaking duties in 1992-93, with each averaged just 24 minutes per game. Greg started the half of his 70 appearences, and the Knicks only lost a legendary 8 of 35 games when Greg started. The fast-developing second year Guard suffered a injury late in the season and also served a five-game suspansion for his role in a March 23 fight with the Phoenix Suns. The talented second-year Guard led the Knicks in assists 33 times during the year and finished with averages of 6.6 points and 5.7 assists per game. He set a career high with 15 assists against the Magic at Orlando on January 8. After a great season, Greg came off the bench in all 15 postseason games, averaging 3.9 points and 3.5 assists per game. Playing with a backup role for Anthony, the Knicks advenged the Eastern Conference Finals, before losing to Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in six games. |
