| Greg Anthony left the University of Nevada-Las Vagas as the school's all time leader in assists (838) and steals (275), what proves Greg already was a great playmaker and defender in the NCAA. The New York Knicks drafted Greg Anthony with the 12th overall pick in the 1991 draft. In his seasons at UNLV, Greg proved his 12th place at the draft more than worthy. Greg won the NCAA-Championship, with Larry Johnson (New York) and Stacey Augmon (Portland) by his side. After leading the Runnin' Rebels, Greg got to back-up 'assist-legend' Mark Jackson with the Knicks. Greg played all the 82 games through the season, and he became only the sixth rookie for the Knicks to do that. Greg started once, when Mark couldn't play, because Mark was attending the birthof his son. Ceasar said: Veni, Vidi, Vici. When Greg entered the field, he was unstoppable, scoring a season-high 20 points and making a season-high 13 assists, as the Knicks defeted their rivals, the Indiana Pacers, in overtime. For the season, Anthony averaged 5.5 points and3.8 assists in 18.4 minutes per game. He also led the Knicks in assists 14 times, and had three games of 10 or more. |
