MATT 3:13-17 3:1 And in those days cometh John the Baptist preaching in the desert of Judea. 3:2 And saying: Do penance: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by Isaias the prophet, saying: A voice of one crying in the desert, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight his paths. 3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea, and all the country about Jordan: 3:6 And were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. 3:7 And seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them: Ye brood of vipers, who hath shewed you to flee from the wrath to come? 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of penance. 3:11 I indeed baptize you in water unto penance, but he that shall come after me, is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Ghost and fire. 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor and gather his wheat into the barn; but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire. 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan, unto John, to be baptized by him. 3:14 But John stayed him, saying: I ought to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me? 3:15 And Jesus answering, said to him: Suffer it to be so now. For so it becometh us to fulfil all justice. Then he suffered him. 3:16 And Jesus being baptized, forthwith came out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened to him: and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him. 3:17 And behold a voice from heaven saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. . |

The Marriage |
JOHN 2:1-11 2:1 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. 2:2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. 2:3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. 2:4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? My hour is not yet come. 2:5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye. 2:6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. 2:7 Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 2:8 And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it. 2:9 And when the chief steward had tasted the water made wine and knew not whence it was, but the waiters knew who had drawn the water: the chief steward calleth the bridegroom, 2:10 And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now. 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him. |

The Kingdom |
MATT 13:24-30 // 22:2-14 also see:Matt 20 and 25 etc. 13:24 Another parable he proposed to them, saying: The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man that sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while men were asleep, his enemy came and oversowed cockle among the wheat and went his way. 26 And when the blade was sprung up, and had brought forth fruit, then appeared also the cockle. 27 And the servants of the good man of the house coming said to him. Sir, didst thou not sow good seed in thy field? Whence then hath it cockle? 28 And he said to them: An enemy hath done this. And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and gather it up? 29 And he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also together with it. 30 Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn. 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is likened to a king who made a marriage for his son. 3 And he sent his servants to call them that were invited to the marriage: and they would not come. 4 Again he sent other servants, saying: Tell them that were invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my beeves and fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come ye to the marriage. 5 But they neglected and went their ways, one to his farm and another to his merchandise. 6 And the rest laid hands on his servants and, having treated them contumeliously, put them to death. 7 But when the king had heard of it, he was angry: and sending his armies, he destroyed those murderers and burnt their city. 8 Then he saith to his servants: The marriage indeed is ready; but they that were invited were not worthy. 9 Go ye therefore into the highways; and as many as you shall find, call to the marriage. 10 And his servants going forth into the ways, gathered together all that they found, both bad and good: and the marriage was filled with guests. 11 And the king went in to see the guests: and he saw there a man who had not on a wedding garment. 12 And he saith to him: Friend, how camest thou in hither not having on a wedding garment? But he was silent. 13 Then the king said to the waiters: Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the exterior darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are called, but few are chosen. |

The Transfiguration |
MATT 17:1-8 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: 2 And he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow. 3 And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 5 And as he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him. 6 And the disciples hearing fell upon their face, and were very much afraid. 7 And Jesus came and touched them: and said to them: Arise, and fear not. 8 And they lifting up their eyes, saw no one, but only Jesus. 9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead. |

The Holy Eucharist | LUKE 22:14-20 And when the hour was come, he sat down: and the twelve apostles with him. 15 And he said to them: With desire I have desired to eat this pasch with you, before I suffer. 16 For I say to you that from this time I will not eat it, till it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And having taken the chalice, he gave thanks and said: Take and divide it among you. 18 For I say to you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, till the kingdom of God come. 19 And taking bread, he gave thanks and brake and gave to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me. 20 In like manner, the chalice also, after he had supped, saying: This is the chalice, the new testament in my blood, which shall be shed for you. |
