Forbidden and will be punished by God

Exodus 22:21-24. Thou shalt not molest a stranger, nor afflict him: for
yourselves also were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall not
hurt a widow or an orphan. If you hurt them, they will cry out to me,
and I will hear their cry: And my rage shall be enkindled, and I will
strike you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your
children fatherless.

Asylum from oppression

Deuteronomy 23:15-16. Thou shalt not deliver to his master the
servant that is fled to thee. He shall dwell with thee in the place that
shall please him, and shall rest in one of thy cities: give him no
trouble.

inheritance of the violent, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
If his sons be multiplied, they shall be for the sword, and his
grandsons shall not be filled with bread. They that shall remain of
him, shall be buried in death, and his widows shall not weep. If he
shall heap together silver as earth, and prepare raiment as clay, he
shall prepare indeed, but the just man shall be clothed with it: and
the innocent shall divide the silver.

suffer wrong.

this place.

and I have seen their affliction, wherewith they are oppressed by the
Egyptians. But come, and I will send thee to Pharao, that thou mayst
bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.
