Proverbs 15:28. The mind of the just studieth obedience: the mouth
of the wicked overfloweth with evils.
Obedience to God brings a blessing, even salvation
Deuteronomy 11:27. A blessing, if you obey the commandments of
the Lord your God, which I command you this day:
Hebrews 5:9. And being consummated, he became, to all that obey
him, the cause of eternal salvation:
We should be obedient to our parents
Exodus 20:12. Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayst be
longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.
Disobeying our parents brings trouble
Proverbs 19:26. He that afflicteth his father, and chaseth away his
mother, is infamous and unhappy.
Proverbs 30:17. The eye that mocketh at his father, and that
despiseth the labour of his mother in bearing him, let the ravens of
the brooks pick it out, and the young eagles eat it.
We should obey those in authority
Ephesians 6:5. Servants, be obedient to them that are your lords
according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of
your heart, as to Christ.
We should obey the Church
Hebrews 13:17. Obey your prelates and be subject to them. For they
watch as being to render an account of your souls: that they may do
this with joy and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you.
