Created in God's image
Genesis 1:27. And God created man to his own image: to the image
of God he created him: male and female he created them.
God's purpose for man
Proverbs 16:4. The Lord hath made all things for himself: the wicked
also for the evil day.
Isaias 43:7. And every one that calleth upon my name, I have
created him for my glory. I have formed him, and made him.
Genesis 1:28. And God blessed them, saying: Increase and multiply,
and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fishes of the sea,
and the fowls of the air, and all living creatures that move upon the
earth.
Position in creation
Hebrews 2:7-8. Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels:
thou hast crowned him with glory and honour and hast set him over
the works of thy hands. Thou hast subjected all things under his feet.
For in that he hath subjected all things to him he left nothing not
subject to him. But now we see not as yet all things subject to him.
Duty to God
Deuteronomy 10:12-13. And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God
require of thee, but that thou fear the Lord thy God, and walk in his
ways, and love him, and serve the Lord thy God, with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul: And keep the commandments of the Lord, and
his ceremonies, which I command thee this day, that it may be well
with thee?
Matthew 4:10. Then Jesus saith to him: Begone, Satan: for it is
written: The Lord thy God shalt thou adore, and him only shalt thou
serve.
Duty to man
Isaias 58:6-7. Is not this rather the fast that I have chosen? Loose the bands of wickedness, undo the bundles that oppress, let them that
are broken go free, and break asunder every burden. Deal thy bread
to the hungry, and bring the needy and the harbourless into thy
house: when thou shalt see one naked, cover him, and despise not
thy own flesh.
Matthew 7:12. All things therefore whatsoever you would that men
should do to you, do you also to them. For this is the lawn and the
prophets.
Matthew 22:39. And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
All men are created equal
Job 31:13-15. If I have despised to abide judgment with my
manservant, or my maidservant, when they had any controversy
against me: For what shall I do when God shall rise to judge? and
when he shall examine, what shall I answer him? Did not he that
made me in the womb make him also: and did not one and the
same form me in the womb?
Proverbs 22:2. The rich and poor have met one another: the Lord is
the maker of them both.
Acts 10:28. And he said to them: you know how abominable it is for a
man that is a Jew to keep company or to come unto one of another
nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or
unclean.
Galations 3:28. There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond

Ignorance of man
Job 8:9. (For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant that our days
upon earth are but a shadow
Job 28:12-13. But where is wisdom to be found, and where is the
place of understanding? Man knoweth not the price thereof, neither
is it found in the land of them that live in delights.
His soul is immortal
Psalms 15:10-11. Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor
wilt thou give thy holy one to see corruption. Thou hast made known
to me the ways of life, thou shalt fill me with joy with thy
countenance: at thy right hand are delights even to the end.
Psalms 30:6. Into thy hands I commend my spirit: thou hast
redeemed me, O Lord, the God of truth.
His spirit is of God
Job 32:8. But, as I see, there is a spirit in men, and the inspiration of
the Almighty giveth understanding.
Ecclesiastes 12:7. And the dust return into its earth, from whence it
was, and the spirit return to God, who gave it.
