Causes poverty
Proverbs 6:9-11. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt
thou arise out of thy sleep? Thou wilt sleep a little, thou wilt slumber
a little, thou wilt fold thy hands a little to sleep: And want shall come
upon thee, as a traveller, and poverty as a man armed. But if thou
be diligent, thy harvest shall come as a fountain, and want shall flee
far from thee.
Ecclesiastes 10:18. By slothfulness a building shall be brought down,
and through the weakness of hands, the house shall drop through.
Is shameful
Proverbs 10:5. He that gathereth in the harvest, is a wise son: but he
that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion.
Makes life hard even on the lazy
Proverbs 15:19. The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns: the
way of the just is without offence.
Should not be tolerated
2 Thessalonians 3:10. For also, when we were with you, this we
declared to you: that, if any man will not work, neither let him eat.
