Idols have no power
Wisdom 13:16. Providing for it, lest it should fall, knowing that it is
unable to help itself: for it is an image, and hath need of help.
Jeremiah 10:5. They are framed after the likeness of a palm tree,
and shall not speak: they must be carried to be removed, because
they cannot go. Therefore fear them not, for they can neither do evil
nor good.
Idols and their worshippers are cursed
Wisdom 14:8. But the idol that is made by hands, is cursed, as well it,
as he that made it: he because he made it; and it because being
frail it is called a god.
Idols are forbidden
Exodus 20:4. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the
likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth
beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.
Bring punishment
Exodus 20:5. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the
Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that
hate me:
Have no dealings with idol worshippers
Exodus 34:15. Make no covenant with the men of those countries;
lest, when they have committed fornication with their gods, and
have adored their idols, some one call thee to eat of the things
sacrificed.
