CHURCH
The church of Christ stands forever.
Matthew 16:18 (Jesus is speaking to Peter) "And I say to thee:
That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
Eph 3:10 And to enlighten all men, that they may see what is the
dsipensation of the mystery which has been hidden from eternity
in God, who created all things: That the manifold wisdom of God
may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly
places through the church, According to the eternal purpose,
which he made, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 14:16 (Jesus is speaking to the apostles) "And I will ask
the Father, and he shall give you another Paraclete, that he my
abide with you forever."
The church is the body of which Christ is the head.
Colossians 1:18 (Paul is writing about Jesus) "And he is the
head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead; that in all things he may hold the primacy..."
The church is always visible.
Matthew 5:14 (From the sermon on the mount) "You are the light
of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid."
The church is infallible in matters of faith and morals.
John 14:16 17 (Jesus is speaking to the apostles following the
last supper.) "And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you
another Paraclete, that he may abide with you forever. The
spirit of truth, whom the world cannot recieve, because it seeth
him not, nor knoweth him: but you shall know him; because he
shall abide with you, and shall be in you."
1 Timothy 3:15 "But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how
thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is
the church of the livivng God, the pillar and ground of the
truth."
