The Holy of God should abstain from alcoholic beverages

Leviticus 10:8-10. The Lord also said to Aaron: You shall not drink
wine nor any thing that may make drunk, thou nor thy sons, when
you enter into the tabernacle of the testimony, lest you die. Because
it is an everlasting precept; through your generations: And that you
may have knowledge to discern between holy and unholy, between
unclean and clean:

Numbers 6:2-3. Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to
them: When a man, or woman, shall make a vow to be sanctified,
and will consecrate themselves to the Lord: They shall abstain from
wine, and from every thing that may make a man drunk. They shall
not drink vinegar of wine, or of any other drink, nor any thing that is
pressed out of the grape: nor shall they eat grapes either fresh or
dried.

Judges 13:3-5. And an angel of the Lord appeared to her, and said:
Thou art barren and without children: but thou shalt conceive and
bear a son. Now therefore beware, and drink no wine nor strong
drink, and eat not any unclean thing. Because thou shalt conceive,
and bear a son, and no razor shall touch his head: for he shall be a
Nazarite of God, from his infancy, and from his mother's womb, and
he shall begin to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.

Drinking in ordinary situations is an individual choice

Esther 1:8. Neither was there any one to compel them to drink that
were not willing, but as the king had appointed, who set over every
table one of his nobles, that every man might take what he would.

Drinking much is foolish and will bring destruction

Proverbs 23:19-21. Hear thou, my son, and be wise: and guide thy
mind in the way. Be not in the feasts of great drinkers, nor in their
revellings, who contribute flesh to eat: Because they that give
themselves to drinking, and that club together, shall be consumed:
and drowsiness shall be clothed with rags.

Proverbs 31:4-5. Give not to kings, O Lamuel, give not wine to kings:
because there is no secret where drunkenness reigneth: And lest
they drink and forget judgments, and pervert the cause of the
children of the poor.

Abstinence from alcoholic beverages yields the rewards of good
living

Jeremiah 35:5-14. And I set before the sons of the house of the
Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups: and I said to them: Drink ye
wine. And they answered : We will not drink wine: because
Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying: You
shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your children, for ever: Neither
shall ye build houses, nor sow reed, nor plant vineyards, nor have
any: but you shall dwell in tents all your days, that you may live
many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are strangers.

Luke 1:15. For he shall be great before the Lord and shall drink no
wine nor strong drink: and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost,
even from his mother's womb.
