Adultery is a shameful and deadly sin
Genesis 20:3. And God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and
he said to him: Lo thou shalt die for the woman that thou hast taken:
for she hath a husband.
2 Kings 12:14. Nevertheless, because thou hast given occasion to the
enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, for this thing, the child that is
born to thee, shall surely die.
Job 24:15-19. The eye of the adulterer observeth darkness, saying:
No eye shall see me: and he will cover his face ... Let him pass from
the snow waters to excessive heat, and his sin even to hell.
Matt. 5:27. You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
5:28. But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.
5:31. And it hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce.
5:32. But I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, excepting the cause of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery: and he that
shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.
Matt. 19:9. And I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and
he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.
Matt. 19:18. He said to him: Which? And Jesus said: Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not
bear false witness.
Mark.10:11. And he saith to them: Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another committeth adultery against her.
10:12. And if the wife shall put away her husband and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
10:19. Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, bear not false witness, do no fraud, honour thy
father and mother.
