Nance (full name unknown) was born in Chamesburg,Pennsylvania,the son of a mechanic father,a former Son of Ether,and a working nurse mother.He and his family moved to Florida when he was 4,where he was raised most of his lifeAwakening in his mid-teens at a traumatic time during his parents divorce,R.J's father had taken him away to be instructed in the ways of the Traditions.At first it appeared that he would have a nervous breakdown,as his world came crashing around him,but shortly regained the inner strength to accept his new abilities.R.J. is an Orphan at heart,taking his father's use of paradigm and foci and mixing it with any techniques he could find.After graduating from high school at age 18,R.J. enlisted in the U.S. Navy,learning his magic in secret while serving as a seaman for two years before honorably discharged.During this time he met his future mentor,an Army intellegence officer who was an Akashic mage.R.J. moved about in the country afterwards,content to stay a free Orphan until the Intellegence Officer,now retired,has approached him a year later.Over time,he became his close friend and second mentor. Eventually,he was introduced into the Li-Hai,which fits in well with his flexible viewpoints.However,he was rambunctious at heart,unable to mesh with most of Akashic tradition.Once he had mastered the fundamentals of Do,he moved back to Florida to take care of his family home after his mother passed away.He has recently discovered a fairly powerful node near his home,controlled by Silver Claw werewolves,and the Garou has allowed him to use it in exchange for services via magic.He has also befriended a relatively young female Caitiff vampire who ran away from her sire and is now living with him.His personal interests include magical advancement,martial drawing,bodybuilding and watching sci-fi action movies. |
