| Chapter 4 The Chain Reaction About a month had passed since the attack on the shoreline and questions had been answered. Agumon had explained that after Greymon had done battle with Shellmon he had Dedigivolved back in to Agumon because he had used a great amount of energy. The last month had been more then tiring, and more then incredible. All of the Digimon had followed in Agumon�s glorious footsteps. When Seadramon Island came to life, Gabumon Digivolved in to Garurumon, the ultimate dog of war. When the remote island revealed itself to be a Digimon, Matt was the only on it and was forced under the dark waters by the strength of Seadramon�s tail. Gabumon experienced the fear and the same sense of protection toward Matt as Agumon had toward Tai. In all the chaos Gabumon Digivolved as had Agumon. HOWLING BALSTER, Garurumon�s (Gabumon�s champion form) champion Digimon attack, defeated the evil Seadramon and saved Matt from becoming lost forever in the dark depths of the Digital World. Digivolving to champion level was a chain reaction. When the Yokomon village was attacked by Meramon, Sora was trapped on a remote cliff while evacuating the terrified Yokomon form their village in flames. Biyomon Digivolved in to Birdramon, the falcon of justice and destroyed the black gears that controlled Meramon, the champion flame giant, using her powerful METEOR WING. Outside the Yokomon village, the ragtag group came upon an abandoned factory. Inside they lost Izzy and Tentomon to a portal trap. In the frantic rush to find the lost, they found another Digimon, who was traped in a dense knot of wires. Biyomon explained that the trapped Andromon (a good Digimon) knew this factory up and down, the kids freed him and no sooner does he start attacking his young savors. Meanwhile Izzy was in no distress what so ever. He and Tentomon where traped in a small room with codes written up and down the walls and � no exit. While Tentomon franticly looked for an exit that wasn�t there, the codes on the wall had Izzy in a trance. Izzy was incredibly fascinated with this find (or the find that found them) as he was determined to decode it. �ot yht nwo fles eb eurt� Izzy said it over and over in his mind. �What does it mean, what could it mean, does it mean anything at all?� he asked himself. �Izzy I don�t mean to worry you but I don�t think there is a way out� Tentomon said with his head hung low in failure. �Great! Now I can relax and decode this puzzle.� don�t you miss the others� Tentomon said. �Sure, but how can I pass up this opportunity!� Izzy said as he continued his work. �I can�t believe what I�m hearing! It sounds like you enjoy the company of computers more then that of people!� Tentomon cried. �Sure, who wouldn�t but- - wait I think I have something!� Izzy stopped short in seeing that his search was successful, something had begun to download. �I can�t believe it, the answer is downloading right before my eyes!� Izzy said as he carefully watched the loading bar progress from one side to the other. Tentomon leaned over to see what Izzy was so happy about, but in stead received a major shock. �Owwww, oh oh owwww� Tentomon said as he jumped up and down in agony. �Wha- whats going on, why is it doing this?!?� Izzy said as he watched the electricity surge from his laptop and in to his Digimon comrade. �Make it stop, make it stop� pleaded the Digimon as it freaked out over its shocking experience. Izzy realized what must be done and pulled the plug on the discovery of a lifetime. Tentomon quickly recovered as Izzy gazed blankly at the black screen. �Oh, Izzy I�m sorry I- -� �Don�t be, It just wasn�t meant to be�� Izzy said sadly but firmly. Tentomon walked over to Izzy and put his hand on his slumped back. �Or at least not yet.� He said. Izzy tuned his head away from the screen and to Tentomon smiling face. �Yeah, your right� �IS THIS HOW THIS GUY THANKS PEOPLE FOR REASCUING HIM!?!� Tai said as he and the others ran from Andromon. �I thought you said he was a good guy!� Sora said. �He is, I bet Deivmon is behind this!� Palmon said. Matt watched out in front of him as the groupraced down the catwalk. Suddenly he noticed that a large portion of the metal in front of them was rusted, or rusted though. �Whoa, heads up, in front of- -� but Matt�s warning was to late and the group broke though the feeble platform. Andromon stopped when his prey disappeared. �Owww please let go of my legs!� Mimi wailed. �Mimi-don�t-let-go! Tai demanded as he hung on to Agumon, who hung on to Matt, who hung on to Gabumon, who hung on to T.K., who hung on to Patamon, who hung on to Biyomon, who hung on to Sora, who hung on to Gomamon, who hung on to Joe, who hung on to Palmon, who hung on to Mimi. �I can�t hold on much longer�but if you all let go at least I�ll be spared! Be brave, be bold, save the beautiful girl or die trying!� Mimi preached. �MIMI!� the group screamed together in a perfect chorus. �Oh Mimi.� Palmon said as she said as she heard Mimi giggle. �Well aren�t getting anywhere this way, we should probably call for help.� Joe said. The others agreed. �HELP!!!!!!!!� �How did you do it Izzy� Tentomon asked as he and Izzy wondered down one of the many hallways of the factory. �I don�t know what I did exactly but - -� �HELP!� �Oh my I think that was the others!� Tentomon cried. �I think you�re right� Izzy said as he started to race toward the direction from which he heard the voices. �Uh� uh� with way? Izzy asked him self as he turned his head from side to side. Uh� there!� Izzy saw a chain of his friends hanging for the catwalk. �Izzy we�re down here, hurry!� Mimi called. Izzy reached them and leaned over the side. �Well how did you guys get in to this one?� he said as he grabbed Mimi�s hands and began to pull up. �A new Digimon attacked us and- -THERE IT IS!� Mimi cried. Izzy looked up to see a gigantic Digimon towering over him. �YE GODS! Mimi grab back on to rail!� he said. Mimi followed his lead and when she did, Izzy scampered out of the way. Andromon didn�t hesitate and ran after the kid visible kid. �Run faster Izzy,� Tentomon cried as Izzy ran toward him. Izzy was fast but Andromon was faster and with one quick swipe of his long metal hand, he grabbed Izzy by the collar of his shirt. Izzy cried out in fear and Tentomon could take no more. �Tentomon Digivolve to� Kabutarimon!� Izzy watched in awe as he saw what magnificent beast his little buddy Tentomon had become. Kabutarimon was a sliver blue color, had a built in helmet on his head, had a huge horn that was where a nose would be, had one pair of arms and one pair of legs, and had many a wings. In his new champion form, Kabutarimon used his ELECTRO SHOKER and vanquised the black gear within Andromon. When the battle was over Kabutarimon DeDigivolved back to Tentomon and with Andromon�s help they helped the others back up on to the catwalk. How they safely found their way out of the factory was anyone�s guess. Their adventures brought them to a beautiful vast and open field. But unfortunately their peace was not meant to be, this was NUMEMON TERRITORY. It didn�t take long for the little green champions with huge googley eyes to close in and attack. These Digimon especially annoyed Mimi. As the group ran form the uncountable hoard of little brutes, they used the �every man for himself strategy.� Mimi and Palmon, now alone, ran all the way in to a dense forest. There they ran in to a gigantic champion Digimon, MONZEMON. Monzemon was a bear-like Digimon of incredible proportions! �Why don�t you come to Toy Town, it�s the funniest place in the Digital World.� Toy Town? That did sound like fun, but something didn�t sound like right about the bear said it. Mimi was right to be suspicious because as soon as the Digimon finished its sentience it attacked. �HEARTS ATTACK!� Believe me when I say its not as lovely as it sounds, in fact if you were attacked by it you would run right back in to the Numemon just like Mimi did. �Oh no there everywhere!� Mimi cried when she ran in to the lone Numemon. �What are you talking about, there�s only one Numamon Mimi� Palmon said. �I was talking about evil Digimon!� Mimi cried not knowing where to run to next. �Here comes Monzemon!� Palmon said. �I don�t know what�s gotten in to him, he used to be really nice!� �I bet I know what�s gotten in to him,� Mimi said. �Excuse me SWEETIE PIE, but I�ll save you if you�ll go out with me!� The Numemon said with a big grin on his face. �SWEEITIE PIE?� Mimi growled. �There�s no time for that now Mimi we have to hide� Palmon said. �Down here girls!� Numemon said as he disappeared under ground. Mimi and Palmon (with no other choice) quickly followed. Monzemon walked right over the hideaways and continued on his way. �There, I saved you, cookie!� Numemon said blushing. �Ugh! Sorry no dice!� Mimi said as she jumped out of the secret hiding place. �Can I at least have a KISS?� he called out. �Sorry� she called back. �I can�t hear you!� Numemon watched her go. �WOW what a girl!� Mimi and Palmon searched high and low for the others and their search lead them to Toy Town. It was very impressive, the place in the dreams of every eight-year-old. Mimi was fourteen years old, just as old as all the others expect T.K., but she still thought this place looked as fun as ever! �I wonder where the others are, they would like this place to!� Mimi said. �I bet they would but- - wait there�s Tai!� Tai was running toward them, but he didn�t seem to be in any trouble. �This is so much fun, I�ve never had so much fun in my entire life.� He said as he ran right past them. That was the first time Mimi and Palmon noticed that a toy monkey with tambourines was following Tai as he ran down the streets of Toy Town. �That doesn�t look like that much fun it all� Mimi said as she watched him go. Palmon nodded in agreement. �And Tai sure didn�t sound like himself.� Then Matt ran passed them, followed by some toy, spouting the same gibberish as Tai. He was followed by Sora. �Oh I�m having so much fun, I can�t remember the last time I had so much fun.� Izzy ran by saying something similar. Joe wasn�t far behind. �This is so much better then homework.� Now that blew Mimi�s mind. That wasn�t like Joe at all, what in the world is going on here in Toy Town? As she and Palmon continued walking, T.K. came zipping around the corner. �You can�t catch me. You can�t catch me� he said as a toy airplane buzzed behind him. Mimi looked at Palmon. Palmon looked at Mimi. Before they could say anything, Monzemon stepped in. I�m glad you decided to came to Toy Town, now you can join the others in my toy chest! HEARTS ATTACK!� Mimi ran as fast as she could (in a dress) with Palmon close behind. �I can�t believe it, I�m being chased by a giant stuffed bear!� she cried. �Just keep running- - wait in here� Palmon said as she grabbed Mimi by the hand and pulled her though on of the doors that lined the streets of Toy Town. Mimi and Palmon found themselves in an pretty-much empty room, nothing but a little Toy chest stood in the corner. �I guess we can hide in here for a little while� Mimi said, but quickly changed her mind when the lone toy chest started talking to her. �Is any body there? Hello, hello, hello?� �Okay time to go� Mimi said as she grabbed the doorknob and twisted like crazy. �Wait Mimi, that�s Agumon!� Palmon said. �Palmon, Mimi is that you?� Agumon called. �Yes its us, is they�re anyone else in there with you?� Palmon asked. �I�m in here too,� Gabumon said. �Me three� Biyomon called. �So are we� Tentomon, Gomamon, and Patamon said. �What happened� Mimi asked. �We were attacked outside Toy Town by Monzemon and only us Digimon were spared from his Heart Attack� Agumon explained. We didn�t want to leave without Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Joe, or T.K., so he captured us and put us in this toy chest� Gomamon said. �Oh, that�s it� Mimi said. �They�re all under Monzemon�s spell, THE TOYS ARE PLAYING WITH THEM!� Mimi was suddenly glad that Numemon came along and showed them a place to hide. �Okay, how do you open this� Mimi said as she fiddled with the lock on the chest. �Only Monzemon can open the chest Mimi, you have to be the hero this time!� Gabumon said. �What!� Mimi cried. �I don�t want to fight� �That�s good you know that fighting is wrong, but you�ll have to make an exception or we�ll be in here for ever!� Gomamon said. �Come on Mimi, you can do it� Palmon said. �Okay� lets go then� Mimi said sounding less then glum. They stepped outside looking for Monzemon. He found them first, by surprise, and they once again had to run. �Now, now don�t run away from Toy Town� Monzemon taunted. Mimi and Palmon ran over a manhole cover and when they did Numemon popped out. �Don�t worry I�ll save you cookie!� with that hundreds more came flying out of the hole and began to use them selves as a shield, blocking Monzemon from Mimi and Palmon. This angered Monzemon a great deal. �HEARTS ATTACK!� The Numemon were no match for Monzemon and his Heart Attack and the shield was broken. �Oh no Numamon!� Mimi cried. �I can�t let them fight alone� Palmon said as she ran up to Monzemon. �I may be a lady� but I am not a push over! It�s time to take it to the next level!� Palmon said. �Palmon digivolve to� TOGEMON!� Palmon�s champion form took the form of a giant Cactus that began its attack with a flat out jab to Monzemon�s stomach. �HEARTS ATTACK� Monzemon cried angrily. �How about some NEEDLE SPRAY!� Togemon said as she used her champion attack. The Needle Spray over powered the Hearts Attack, dispelled the black gear, and freed Mimi�s friends and they�re Digimon! �I�m sorry I attacked you, a evil feeling came over me� Monzemon explained as his true self. �That�s all right we know you didn�t mean it� Tai said. �A black gear was inside of you� Gabumon explained. �I built Toy Town as a refuge to old toys that no one wants anymore,� Monzemon said. �If a toy gets broken, people just them away, its so sad� The kids and the Digimon looked at each other, that was sad. �As a token of my appreciation, I would like to give this to you!� Monzemon opened his arms up big and wide. �HEARTS ATTACK� WITH A HUG!� Huge heart shapes surrounded the kids and the Digimon. One of them flew and grabbed Mimi inside of it. When Mimi was inside of the heart, she was filled with a filling of joy and the threat of Devimon seemed to wash away for the time being. More of the hearts grabbed up the others including the Digimon. That same little love sick Numemon popped his head out of the manhole and looked up at Mimi in the giant pink heart. �Hey Cookie, will you go out with me now?� Mimi looked down at him and smiled. �No.� �WOW what a girl, she�ll come around!� |
