Handy hints, tips and tricks
On these pages I will try to display as many handy hints, tips and tricks that you can use in everyday situations around the home, swimming pool, garden, aquariums, car and indeed your personnal computer.

These handy hints do not include actions like hitting the T.V or punching the computer keyboard. These are practical solutions to everyday problems.

If you have any handy hints that you would like to add, please email me and let me know.

*Around the garden.

1. Planning to do a bit of digging around the garden? To avoid dirt under and around the fingernails, scrub your nails over some sunlight soap, or any soap for that matter. When you wash your hands after playing in the dirt, you'll find the dirt washes out with the soap.

2. Place the old tea bags and coffee bags for the garden/compost heap. Not just used tea leaves and used coffee but complete bags strings and all. Wonderful fertilizer. Might even make a tea-tree!

* Around the car.

1. When washing the car windows, put on some disposable gloves to avoid hand marks on newly washed surfaces.

* On the computer.

1. Computer start up too slow? Try this. Click on start, go to run and type in "msconfig", then "OK". Go to your start up tab and uncheck all that you don't want on your task bar.
Thank you to Koren.

2. Time to clean up the computer? Click start, move up to and select find. Key in "*temp". You may delete all these files.
Thank you to Koren once again.

* Around the house.

1. Don't use too much polish on wooden furniture. A thorough rub with a cloth dabbed with a tiny amount of polish will bring out the best Magic out of the wood.

2. Don't automatically wash or wipe wallpaper. Some wallpaper may react to water or cleaning solutions. Test first on wallpaper that is hidden from view.

3. Got some nice flowers inside that you would like to keep in full colour a wee bit longer? Just add 1 to 2 drops of bleach for every cup of water in your vase, and your flowers will keep fresher longer, and the water slime free.

*Around the pool.

1. To clean a swimming pool, you have to get into a wetsuit and swim underwater scrubbing the walls and steps. Only joking.
When brushing the surface to get rid of bacteria and algae, make sure you don't ignore the steps and corners.

2. When you finnish, sweep and mop the pool deck area . This will help stop dirt and bacteria being taken back into the pool.
