R. "Da' GoodChild" Ray, an Oklahoma native, got his first taste of music before he was born. His dad would put headphones on his mom's stomach, letting him hear and feel music for the first time. The first forms of music that he was introduced to were Jazz and Blues. Jazz and Blues were not the only types of music he was exposed to though, as he grew up. On any given day, besides Jazz and Blues, there would be Country, Classical, Soul, Rock, Gospel, Reggae, Punk, or New Age blasting from his father's stereo. Some of these songs were listened to in total darkness so that their subtle nuances could be felt and heard. He later developed love for the music of his generation, Rap and Hip-Hop. His early exposure to other forms of music helped him appreciate the different sampled sources that form the foundation of so much of what is played on the radio today Today "Da' GoodChild" still finds joy in all types of music. He understands that there is a sound and rhythm to practically everything we do. He is now working on becoming a big name producer. |
