The latest word is that the new, reorganized Dug Dug's, with Armando Nava, are far away in a foreign country.

Armando, the director of the band, has plans to perfect their music. To do this he has been listening to the great masters of rock & roll. His dream of making his band the greatest in the country has led him to New York, where he already has gigs lined up. In the meantime, his band mates are in the north of the country, listening to and assimilating the new sounds of today.

We received a long distance call from Armando Nava, and although our talk was brief, it was precise and funny, and the master was very glad.

Hi! How are you?

ARMANDO: Very well! I am very happy with the wave here. There are new music styles, though some may not be very clear. But they can be very useful to our music.

What about the girls?

ARMANDO: They are everywhere!

What made you go to the U.S.?

ARMANDO: Just my feelings. Everything I do is by instinct, but our only goal is to be right up there with the best and to get the recognition we deserve.

With your own arsenal?

ARMANDO: Yes! I think each one of us transforms raw material into a different product. We have our own sound and style. And when we add the knowledge we're gaining here, something good will come up.

When are you coming back?

ARMANDO: I don't know yet. I'm waiting to have enough material on my hands, to go back to Mexico and start my plans.

What do you think of the American musicians?

ARMANDO: Great! Especially the black musicians! I always thought they were more sensitive, but I was very impressed when I saw a show the other day, because I had ever seen or heard music so simple, yet with so much feeling at the same time.
