fox's blatant mismanagement and bungling of this rare gem led to it being cancelled before its first season came to an end. i was a browncoat from day one and converted dozens over to the best show that nobody saw. today you can catch a firefly marathon on scifi from time to time.

the show spawned a movie (serenity) and a movement (the browncoats).

after the attempted genocide of the human race, a small fleet of ships flees across space on the run from their robotic enemies. this last remnant of humanity is on a quest for a mythical world named "earth".

when i was a kid i liked the old series even though it was a bit of a star wars rip off. this re-imagining of the show is amazing. it has been heralded as the best show in tv, and i'm inclined to agree that it should be in the all time top five shows ever.

i have got to admit that i am a fan of westerns. the era appeals to me on some level. i love this show for its no holds barred story telling.

tommy gavin is a fireman and a 9-11 survivor. he struggles to maintain his family, his crew, and his sanity in the aftermath.

i've always been a fan of denis leary and this show justifies that choice. its as aserbic and unflinching as the man's humor. the show has everything: drama, comedy, action, and smokin' hot babes.

two ordinary roman soldiers are thrown together by fate and bound by the events of history.

i am a bit of a history buff. this show is like a window into the past. it's sexy, violent, passionate, and suspensful.

vic mackey and his crew are cops who work on both sides of the law.

this show blurs the lines between hero and villian. it creates a complex portrait of a man that defies catagorization. vic is a man that walks the line between light and shadow and maintains only a tenouos grasp on his soul at best.

the survivors of the oceanic flight 815 crash find themselves on a mysterious island and beseiged by the omnious "others".

this show is about the mystery. its about taking the time to tell a story. personally, i love that. if you don't like lost then there is something very wrong with you.

a small kansas town copes with the aftermath of a nationwide nuclear attack.

at first, i didn't know what to make of this show. on the surface it could be interpretted as some kind of fear-mongering right wing propoganda piece. but i watched carefully and what i saw was a compelling show with wonderful acting by some great actors. every episode leaves me wanting to see the next. while not quite as fantastical as some of the others, the idea of nuclear war is kind of a science fiction concept.

allison dubois has a gift: she can speak with the dead, she can dream the future, and sometimes see the past through objects and photos. often crptic, her vision help her to solve crimes for the peonix district attorney's office.

this is a very well done show about a psychic, something i have a tiny bit of expertise in.

with only a few exceptions, this is the best place for cartoons. family guy, futurama, aqua teen hunger force, sealab 2021, frisky dingo, cowboy bebop, flcl, ghost in the machine: stand alone complex, squidbillies, and metalocalypse all reside here.

with a totally kick ass lineup like that it rocks harder than texas jam '78.

for a mini-series on the sci fi channel, its pretty damn good. i have to say that i was very impressed by the three two-hour movies.

this is the true story of easy company and how this group of men through the trials and adversity of the second world war became a band of brothers.

did i say i was a bit of a history buff? man, i love this show. i watch in awe as i see the exploits of these brave men and realise that it is all real. they really went through all that. after i saw it, i knew i had to own it. so, i bought the metal tin dvd set. good thing is they show this on several channels around the holidays. this show never gets old for me.
