By the way.. Wild 8 has gone Platinum (70,000 copies)
in 2 weeks. This is the fastest-selling Wild CD so far.

As you'd have guessed.. work's been pretty damn busy.
So I've got a MONSTER sized update for you..

Sunday night marked the end of the latest Wild Sydney bcast.
If you've got any comments about the music, shows..
or even the end-of-broadcast party,

Speaking of Wild.. Brisbane have launched their 'new look site'..
Which includes their cute 'Wild kids'.
They're also now netcasting via realaudio,
but as I write this, it's not linked properly.
Instead, copy this text.. 203.34.156.27/wildfm.rm
and paste it into your Realaudio G2 player to listen.

Back on September 1, Peter Gotting wrote an article
about public radio in the Sydney Morning Hearald.
It featured extensive quotes, and this terrifying large
picture of Anthony Gherghetta (Gogo) - manager of Wild FM!
If you want to read the article, look for a copy of the paper
in your local library, or visit www.smh.com.au,
and get ready to pay $2 when you visit their archive section.

The article was about the release of the L.A.P. for the Sydney area
which plans to allocate 2 new commercial FM licenses
and 3 new community FM licenses!
And before you ask.. no decision has been made yet.

on the net! At last, their new site went up this evening!

It's still got a couple of bugs, but it's looking excellent!
If you're outside Melbourne like me, you'll be glad to know
that the Hitz realaudio stream will be back soon too!

2 weeks ago, you might have noticed something familiar
in Caroline Casey's 'Web Week' column.
If you missed it.. this may help you .

Had a great night last Friday at Chequers Nightclub, Wollongong .
I was there for the launch of the 'Wild 8'.. which is released
Australia-wide TOMORROW.
If you haven't seen the tracklisting yet, here it is!

Someone pointed out that I'd forgotten the Central Hitz FM CD.
It's now been added to the Wild CDs page .

In other news, I believe tonight (Thursday) will be
a somewhat historic night for Australian radio.
[at least for aspirant broadcasters]
Wild FM Syndey will be doing an OB (outside broadcast)
from a nightclub.. (so what you say)
Well, the nightclub is Heat Nightclub in MELBOURNE!
If you've ever wondered what the difference in club music tastes
might be between Australian cities.. here's your chance.

According to Gogo from Wild, they'll be doing Nightclub OB's
during the current Sydney broadcast from Brisbane and Perth too!

I've got some other exciting news regarding CDs, TV
and that publicity I mentioned on July 30..
and hope to tell you more in the next day or two.

In regards to the 'mystery publicity' mentioned yesterday,
it looks like I'll be able to show you what I meant

Firstly, some news from Simon the tech at Hitz..
Regarding the next Hitz CD.. it's not long away..

"It's probably being released sometime during the next week.
Luckily, the broadcast started OK on Monday morning..

"We were ready to go to air two hours before 9am
(our advertised time).. At one minute before 9am I called 1194
(that time thing over the phone) and aired that
- the intro to the first show started right on the dot of 9am!"

In some RWHC news.. I've just heard this site got
some cool publicity yesterday..
Tell you more when it's confirmed!

We've had stacks of hits on the temporary page,
so I know you wanted to see it!
And soon I'll start some polls to find out about your taste in CDs too!

Speaking of CDs, Wild FM Volume 8 is due out in the second week
of August. I hope to have some interesting news regarding that
very soon.

Well.. a few things to report..
I've only got ONE CD left to add to the Hitz CD page, so it
will be up very soon.
The Hitz Wallpaper is also about ready,
as I've been able to buy a copy of Hitz CD 5 recently..
(nice cast photo inside the cover)

Thankyou to all those people who've filled out our survey .

Meanwhile.. I've just come back from a day in Sydney.
Normally, this wouldn't warrant a mention, but today was different.
I was looking at some shops in Paddington, when someone grabbed
my arm and said hello.. Anthony Gherghetta or 'Gogo' from Wild FM!

We had a quick chat.. he was happy with the most recent Sydney
broadcast.. mentioned that Wild 7 had sold around 65,000,
and promises to help me out with photos to get working on my
Wild FM Wallpaper .
Of course, if you're a Wild Fan you might be aware that Wild 8
is about to be released..
