A very different episode of Raw FM, which is
not surprising when you consider there were different directors and
writers for each one!
It centres on Gerry.. Raw's upstairs tenant..
the "internut" who avoids people and talks to cyberpals
overseas.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Granger starts
accusing everyone of stealing his ATM card. There's money missing-
that's supposed to fund Raw's broadcast, and people suspect hackers
may be responsible.
Gerry asks her cyber-girlfriend "Ruthy"
to help break into the bank's computers. The guys are all gung-ho to
meet the 'money kidnappers', and almost get arrested for their
hacking... things are even worse for Gerry, who's cyber-babe turns out
to be an ugly bloke with a one-track mind..
-and a dangerous one-track plan!

The internet's mainstream appearance in
Australia in 1995/1996 was 2 years after the first 3 broadcasts of Hitz
FM. It was these 3 test transmissions that seemed to have 'loosely
inspired' Raw FM.
Episode 6 of Raw showed the precarious
financial position that stations such as Hitz found themselves in,
before (if ever) they build up enough funds to operate well.
Hitz FM's first studio was in a small office
in a school, with CDs and CD players
from home, and electrical equipment borrowed
from other schools.
Initially, most of Hitz's finances came from
the members' own pockets,
in the same way Granger made a large financial
contribution to Raw.
Hitz did their own 'tin shake' to fundraise
before the station's 2nd broadcast.
