Eternity
Across this barren land I roam
Seaking knowledge from these tomes
Neverending vast wastelands
Covered with searing sands
The desert wind is hot against my face
And I long to leave this place
But here I am trapped forevermore
With my tattered books of lore
No shelter or piece shall I find
As I slowly lose my mind
As I wait here in the depths of Hell
This wasted body my prison cell
I search the land for signs of you
Perhaps for footsteps leading to
A place beyond this wretched world
Where our problems are unfurled
Oh, but no, you leave me here
With your messanger of fear
So desparingly I ache to leave
Yet desperatly I cling to these
Forgotten tomes of useless lore
I know that soon I'll be no more
Yet I will still be trapped in this godforsaken place
With the sun beating mercilessly upon my face
Even when my bones have turned to dust
And I have melded with the crust
With this earth that we now roam
That we both once called home
Still I will be trapped right here
Forevermore
