Reading Tea Leaves
The best kind of tea to be using if you are going to perform a tea - leaf reading would be teas from China, Indian tea and the cheaper mixtures that contain dust and fragments that float around that they sometimes do not create a clear picture for the reader.  The cups that are best to use are ones with a wide opening and the bottom is smaller but not very small.  The inside of the cup should have no patters and I find that white is best to work with because you can clearly see the layout of the tea leaves at the bottom.

Have the person willing to have their tea leaves read take the cup and drink the tea until there is only about half a teaspoon of the tea left at the bottom.  They should then take the cup into their left hand and and spin it three times in a fairly quick movement.  *Make sure they spin it with the cup facing upwards!*  They should then very slowly tip the cup over so the contents fall onto the saucer and they should leave it there for a good minute.

The cup should then should be held in hand and turned about so that the mixture and patturn of the tea leaves will not be disturbed.  This will not happen if the moisture has not been properly drained away.

The handle represents the consultant, by this fixed point, judgments are made about journeys from home, messages or visitors to be expected, relative distance and so forth. The bottom of the cup represents the remoter future foretold; the side of the cup represents not to be far distant, and matters symbolized near the rim are those that may be expected to occur quickly. The fortune may be equally well told whether there are many or few leaves, but of course there must be some.
