| Magickal Names |
| Magickal names are an important part of Wicca and Witchcraft. Many Wiccans and Witches have their own names that they choose. A Magickal Name is a rebirth of a person, for walking down the Wiccan path is a rebirth of the spirit and mind. Wiccans may use their Magickal name only in spell craft, penmanship and rituals, while others use their Magickal name in their every day life. It's a personal choice, one that you should makie for yourself. Ways of Discovering your Magickal Name: Mediate: Sit down in your bedroom, a bathroom, outside, in the basement, anywhere where you will not be distracted and clear your mind. Do not even think of choosing your Magickal name. The whole idea is for it to 'pop' into your mind. Ask: Ask the Goddess to help you aid yourself in finding your Magickal name. She is very helpful and will help! Discover: What do you like? What are some symbols that you enjoy? Animals? Colours? What do you like? Write some ideas down and then look over them and see which ones jump out at you. Do you like Wolves? Midnight? Don't try to make your name 'sound' good, you'll just wind up with a name that is not you and that you may not like in your life. Many Wiccans never change their name once they have picked them. Others use their Magickal names only in spell craft, covens, and rituals. Others use them from day to day. Again... the choice is yours. |
