Longing of A Vampire
My life was gone,
Lost in your eyes as they closed a final time,
I wished only to join you,
But instead betrayed your holy divinity,
In darkness I fled away from the pain,
Drinking the sweet blood of my lonely maker,
Now in a graveyard I play,
Catching my meals like the demon I am,
To live this way,
To abandon the light...
My power is great,
But my longing for you is greater,
I held another for a short time.
Hoping her still heart could replace your golden beat,
Alas, a false hope,
She too returned to the dust hense we came,
Will no one be here in my immortality?
Or am I destined to lay in my coffin, alone.
Do not torture me with a smile,
Do not hand me your pity,
I chose this life of longing,
Though now I know it's foolishness,
Years pass like the life of a perfect blossom,
Beautiful until turned to dust,
WIll I be the only one left?
Alone to wander the night,
Oh to sweet these memories,
Bringing the only tears I will shed,
Never again warmth,
Never again comfort,
But the night beckons,
And I am born again.
