Support for Netpoint applications:

In Sept 2001, received special training on Support for NetPoint Solutions of Oblix, at Oblix, Cupertino, USA.

Details: The NetPoint product is a Web based tool, consisting of Identity system and Access Management system. This is a very large product and could be customized by using XSL-XML and to some extend Java scripts. The underlying database is LDAP where all the product and user related information is stored.
The initial communication with the customer is through e mail or a proprietary tool Case Manager. Customer describes the problem or the required enhancement in the product. Following technical knowledge is essential for supporting these products:
  • Understanding and using LADP directory structure.
  • Knowledge of using LDAP tools like ldp.
  • Understanding and sometimes modifying XML-XSL files.
  • Understanding Web server technology and editing configuration files of the Web servers.
  • Knowledge of using and modifying, all the features of NetPoint applications contained in Identity System and Access Management System.
The project involves following tasks:
  • Creating cases for the customers.
  • Investing the queries.
  • Find solutions for the queries.
  • Interact with the customers and provide suitable and satisfactory solutions using electronic or Web based media and sometimes through teleconference.
  • If required, file an RFE (Reference for enhancement) or a bug while resolving the case.
  • Create knowledge-based articles from the solved cases.
  • Create knowledge-based articles from the investigation experience.
Technical details of the provided Oblix support:

  • Explain uses of the products in the administrative point of view.

Support for Persistent System�s Data Infrastructure suite:

Sept 1999-Sept 2001:

This suite contained three individual products Enlist, Ensure and Enquire. These three product dealt with the reporting tools like Microsoft Access in connection with the directories, Synchronizing different databases with the directories and creating virtual directories using underlying database/directory.
Developed technical and commercial support activity for these Data Infrastructure suite. Undertook tasks like keeping in touch with all the contacts that were registered through the company Web site. Resolved and maintained track of all the support queries using Bugzilla Bug tracking system. Analyzing the customer queries and the log files. Following up with the developers and sending appropriate replies, was the process being used to achieve the goal. Suggesting befitting DIT for the contacts as per their requirements was important part of the support. Developed documentation and web based articles describing the features of the products.

Developing Contact database system for the support:

Developing of the sample Applications:

PSPL has three products, which deal with directories. Enlist is a Report Server. Any ODBC-compliant application can use Enlist to create reports on the directory data.

Developed sample applications for the prospective customers. These applications demonstrate how to connect to the directory using Enlist and the respective tool.
