BRAHMASRI  RAVI  K. SASTRIGAL

SRI VIDHYA UPASAKAR

   

 

                           BRAHMA SRI  RAVI K. SASTRIGAL hails from the family of DEEKSHITHARS (Vedic scholars who have performed yagna sacrifices and are performing Agni hotric rites daily throughout their life time).  He was born in Tambaram in 1978 to BRAHMA SRI KUPPUSWAMY SASTRIGAL and SRIMATHI REVATHY AMMAL.  His great grand father BRAHMA SRI KOTHANDARAMA DEEKSHITHAR was born in SIMIZHI near Kumbakonam.  Deekshithar has performed 64 pasupandam, karuda yagam and many more yagnas and was one of the muthra athikari of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam and served under Maha Periava.  His grand father BRAHMA SRI SEETHARAMA SASTRIGAL is a great Vedic Scholar and has learnt Vedas and Shastras in Mayavaram Patasala.

 

                        His father BRAHMA SRI S.KUPPUSWAMY SASTRIGAL (Sri Vidhya Upasakar) has learnt Vedas from his grand father BRAHMA SRI KOTHANDARAMA DEEKSHITHAR.  He has been awarded many times by Kanchi Periava of Kamakoti Peetam for his service to the society. He has performed many Chandi Maha yagnas in many places. 

 

                        RAVI SASTRIGAL had his upanayanam in 1985 in the presence of Vedic Scholars of that time.  He learnt western education along with Veda from his father BRAHMA SRI KUPPUSWAMY SASTRIGAL.  He also got Sri Vidhya Upasanai from his father.  Then, he learnt from BRAHMA SRI RAMAKRISHNAN who hails from THEYTHIYUR near Kumbakonam.  Ravi Sastrigal has performed Gayathri homam, Chandi homam at many places like Banglore, Ahemadebad, Guruvayur and Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam.

 

In addition to his knowledge in Veda’s he has a

                      *   M.A. (Sanskrit Vyakaranam)

                      *   Diploma in Computer Application.

                      *   Diploma in Commercial Arts from Santhanu’s Chitra Vidhyalayam.
