| Raves |
| A rave is a social event that modern youth culture has fallen in love with. In most cases, a rave is a dance party in a venue which may be a warehouse, dance club, open field or some other exotic location. They usually have at least one, large amplified stereo system, skilled DJs (who spin Techno, Jungle, Hardcore, ect.), colorful moving lights (lasers or strobes), and at least 50 people (but MORE or less is always possible). To learn what's so special about them... GO TO ONE! The electronic music scene is ours & ours alone to protect & run responsibly. So let's all take a moment & remember what we love about Raves... People who dance with glowstix Using whistles to hype up the crowd People who pass around water when you REALLY need it Needing one more dollar to get in... & when you ask, ravers come to your rescue & you end up with five dollars extra Dancing in front of the speaker stacks & watching your shirt flutter with every beat Random Hugs Comparing socks under huge pants Signing a ravebook & that raver giving you a call the next day Socializing in the bathroom line Having "Morning-After" Breakfast with friends Getting a million goosebumps the moment a song EXPLODES with energy Leaving your stuff for hours & returning to see it hasn't been touched Watching people talk to speakers & walls Hot, manly ravers rollin' with cute, pink binkies People who give you thier only jacket ih the outdoor chill area Kandy Kids letting you hug their e-babies Getting hugs from tough looking Junglists Reaching for lasers... just to be sure you're not trippin' Walking out of a warehouse at 8:00 am, feeling the sun on you & looking up at the blue sky Going out of your way to tell a DJ that he/she played an awesome set Feeling like you could run a few miles the last ten minutes of a rave... then falling asleep on the way home *For Ravers with Strict parents* The feeling of "If they only knew that while they were sleeping..." When you yell out "My friend is puking, anyone have any candy?" And five hands shoot up holding Blow Pops, Star Bursts, & Skittles Giving a Newbie their first peice of kandy Making a song on your whistle & other kids joining in Crazy Hats Photon Lites Being so excited to see people... even though to this day you STILL don't know their name Going to another city for a rave & meeting people who ask you if you need a place to crash afterwards Meeting a Newbie... then seeing them almost every weekend after that Realizing how many friends you've made because of this music The "I'm Deaf For LIFE!" feeling you get as you walk out of a party People who are so happy and nice it's like they're in another world (and their sober!) Knowing that if you ever got into trouble, any amount of those kids you don't know whould come & help you Being able to hear the bass thumping long after you've left the party Totally losing yourself in the music... & when you realize it, there's a crowd around you watching you dance Being amazed by liquid & white gloves Amazing Lite shows Seeing the same kids at three different parties in three different states Seeing Kandy Kids up to their shoulders in braclets Club Kids with HUGE shoes Free Parties |
