| Hey what up, my name is Zeke and I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Not the most exciting place, grant you, but it's only about 90 miles north of Denver, Colorado. I started raving about 4 years ago, and have now decided to say goodbye to the rave scene of Denver. My main reason for this is that I find myself not enjoying them anymore, but angered and frustrated with how deterioraated the scene has become. I remember some of the best times of my life were at raves, but it's a totally different experience now than it was. Raves used to be UNDERGROUND. you had to call 3 different info lines, and go to 3 different map points before the location was revealed to you so it was more challenging to find the raves, but this helped to keep the raves controlled and peaceful. Now Raves are advertised like crazy! Mad flyers are thrown everywhere. Much to my bewilderment, you can now go to the internet and it will give you the location of the venue on the web site, so anyone can find out where it's at....anyone, this means law enforcement. Raves used to be 5-10 dollars for tickets, the promoters cared about the ravers, and looked out for the ravers who were there to chill, listen to good music and feel good vibes.. Raves can now cost 25-30 dollars for tickets and in some cases can get up to 50 dollars for tickets. Promoters have gotten greedy as hell, making raves commercial and trendy. The whole vibe at raves was incredible, ravers practiced PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) You would meet the coolest and most interesting people, and could look forward to seeing them again at future raves Now people at raves, very rarely practice PLUR and most don't even know what it means. There are so many people attending raves now that your lucky to see anybody you know at them. The saddest thing I find at raves now is that there are ten year old kids running around at these things, where drugs are floating around like crazy. These are just some of the many reasons I have for giving up the rave scene and officially saying goodbye. I still love the music and dancing, but actually going to any parties, doubtdul. Every once in a while for nostalgic purposes maybe but we're talkin like once a year, so far It's been a couple of years since I've been to a party. Candy Land 2001 was my last party. You probably also noticed me talking about being fucked up in some of the pics on this site, I used to experiement and do alot of drugs, but that part of my life has also changed dramatically. Baked not fried, it's the healthy choice. I've pretty much returned back to my earthly, hippy ways. (I'm a taurus, earth sign) I'm into nature and the mountains and shit like that. And yeah I likes me ganja. The way I see it, though, cannabis isn't a drug, it's an herb =) I'm still into the house, jungle, drum n bass, and all that shit, but I'm back to listening to the greats agains like Bob Marley, Grateful Dead, Phish, Sound Tribe, Disco Buiscuits, Tool, Flogging Molly, Pennywise, Bad Religion. Love music stylings of all kinds from just about every genre now. |
