Wicca
What is Wicca?

Wicca is the modern name for Witchcraft, it is a branch of Paganism and is an ancient craft and earth-based religion.
Witchcraft has nothing to do with Satanism or the Devil at all, we do not cast evil spells or curses upon people.
In Wicca we worship nature and the God and Goddess (which are seen as the divine creative force that created life.). The God is known as the Horned God (nothing to do with the devil) and the Goddess is known as the Triple Goddess (with three aspects corresponding to the moon, Maiden, Mother and Crone).
Wicca involves the development of magical and psychic abilities such as divination skills using runes and tarot cards. It also requires a knowledge of herbs and there medicinal properties, crystals and elementals(nature spirits). All this information is kept in a Book of Shadows (B.O.S), which is a scret book like a diary containing all the information and spells that a witch needs and uses; ususlly every witch has one of these which is kept hidden.
There are both male and female witches which are known as wiccans and they are seen as high priests and priestesses. Wiccans can either practice in coven with others or they can practice solitary (often solitary wiccans are called Hedge-Witches). The Pentagram is the symbol of wicca, however many people get confused and associate this sign as being part of Satanism. It is NOT as the top point is facing up in Wicca (in Satanism the point faces down). It is a star shape with five points which correspond to the five elements of Ether (Spirit), Earth, Air, Fire and Water.
