Pagan Beliefs

Modern Paganism or Neo-Paganism believe in the following:

1. Nature is sacred, the divine force that created life is represented in evrything, trees, plants, animals, objects and ourselves. We are part of life therefore we should respect it.

2. Paganism celebrates the cycle of life, death and rebirth through the year. There are eight celebratory holidays which symbolise this.

3. The image of the God and Goddess (the divine force, creators of life) are equivalent, none are higher than each other.

4. There are many Gods and Goddesses which resemble different aspects of the Great God and Goddess or the divine force.

5. There are a number of different forms (branches) of Paganism that are practiced. The most common are Druidry, Wicca and Shamanism.

6. The Four elements of earth, air, fire and water are important in paganism as they are associated with nature and the four directions of north, east, south and west.
