The Chakra's
The  chakra's are  part of an ancient system devised in India and practiced by yogis as a path to enlightenment.
There are seven chakra's in the body located from the base of the spine to the top of the head. These are known as:
Sahasrara - Crown of the head
Ajna - Brow, the third eye
Visuddha - Throat
Anahata - Heart
Manipura - Navel
Svadishthana - Pelvic
Muladhara - The base/root chakra.

Each chakra is visualized as a wheel, each representing a power point in the body associated with various organs and each is connected with a certain colour and gemstone.
The chakras are believed to govern the flow of spiritual forces (prana) which circulate along the channels (nadis) of the body. In a ahealthy body the prana should fill the chakras by rising up into them through the central channel Shushamna (associated with the spinal cord). Illness is caused when parana flows up via the serpents Ida and Pingala which is the incorrect way.
