RAVENS
NEST #3
MINUTES FROM 3/13/2001
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. By Greg Tucker.
Guest speaker Roger Rich, Commissioner of LUYAA Football, spoke to the
group for approximately 5 minutes, explaining the mission of his
organization
and presented two plaques to the nest in appreciation of its support.
The minutes from 2/13/01 were read by Paul Smith, Recording Secretary,
and a motion to approve the minutes was made by Holly Kachman. Motion
was
carried.
The Treasurer's report was given by Mark Simpson who reported a cash
balance as of 2/28/01 of $10,119.49. Holly Kachman made a motion to
approve
the report. The motion carried.
New Member Applications
Three full memberships applicants were introduced to the nest and all
three were unani-mously approved. The new members are Phyliss
Tucker,
Charlie Smith and Rebecca Donoghue-Rick.
Old Business
Holly Kachman discussed the various committees, some new and some old,
that were forming to support our various nest functions. The list of
committees and assignments are as found at the end of this e-mail/letter.
Scholarship Banquet
Mark Simpson reported that a final meeting had been held with
Ceresville Mansion for the April 26th event. Mark said that
sponsorship
contributions totaled $1,195 with an additional $250 more expected soon from
other
potential sponsors. Mark emphasized that there are only two more weeks
before the sponsorship contributions will be cutoff due to printing of the
programs. Sponsorships start from a basic $10 patron donation to 1/8, 1/4,
1/2
and full page ads. Last call for donations!!
Web Site
Cindy Warne reported that our web site on Geo-Cities was experiencing
problems and she was trouble-shooting these problems but found it slow
going. Additional discussion entailed concerning perhaps Nest #3 getting
its
own web site. Cindy indicated she would check into the cost of
separating
from Geo-Cities and having our own site.
PSI Game Parking
Greg Tucker reported that the nest should be informed by March 25th if
our proposal was accepted by the school where the nest has parked in
previous years. To the best of our knowledge there are 2 other competitive
bids
along with ours being evaluated.
New Business
A motion to approve a voice mailbox was tabled until the next meeting
so additional cost information could be presented to the membership.
A
mailbox address has been established and is as follows: PO Box 602,
Frederick, MD 21705.
There are still a handful of tickets left for the Bull Roast in Glen
Burnie in April. Please contact Greg Tucker for information.

Tucker
