Name: Chalice

Description: She's one of the many kids on the streets of California. At the moment, her adopted family of fellow street rats are a gang that's close knit. However, she's been having strange dreams and weird things keep happening to her. Finally, her appearance started to change as well. Her once black hair has gone unearthly crimson, her hazel eyes are a deep gold, and her skin went from a sunburnt bronze to a very irredesent white. Her 'family' is freaked out by her now, so she slpit from them, but still has contact with them. She left none too soon, however, as more and more odd things happened to her. Now, if she conscentrated, she can change her colouration to wha tit once was, or leave her unique colouring and grow cat like claws.
Once she learns how to semi-control these odd things, she changes her clouration and goes back to her fellow run aways. However, she started having the odd dreams again, only this time it's about a man who seemed to be carved out of silver fire. As she dreams about him, she is learning about a strange man who the media is all over these days. For some obscur reason Chalice is reminded of the man in her dreams. She sets out to learn about him and realizes that, although the media says his name is Shaw Triviler, he is not the famous politician everyone believes. He's seen on tv as the very typical European meets Ireland man. He's just a bit taller than 5'10, athletic figured and has creepy pale grey eyes and blonde hair with silver shot through it. He appears to be 40ish, and is at the moment running to be vice president. Only last year he managed to be congress man and not long before that he never even existed. Although Chalice has not had much education, or ability to slueth out information, she's been trying to research his family name in the library in the city, but before him, there is no record of any Triviler, nor does he have a birth certificate. Her instincts are screaming at her to expose his facade to the world, but she is unable to, for who would belive street trash like herself, whose a freak of nature besides?
Chalice was born the night the hospital burned down. Her father was unknown and her mother died in the conflagration, so she was ent to an orphanage. Not long after arriving there, she's adpoted into a family. She and the real children of the family are systematically abused from a very young age. Her sisters try to protect Chalice from the physical abuse, but when Chalice was 3, she was sexually abused by her foster parents, like her sisters had been since they had been that age. When Chalice turned 8, her foster mother came home drunk, the cops arrived mid tirade and tried to arrest her. Her foster father clobbered one cop to death, took his gun and killed the other one. Back up was coming though, so the parents started hunting hte children down and kiling them. The two eldest were shot to death, before the bullets ran out, then the twins were stabbed and strangled. Chalice was being attacked when she managed to wiggle free and took off out of the house and into the back alleys. She managed to get into the really bad part of twon before she felt safe and then ran into one of the other street kids. He was just oler than she was and he took care of her and introduced her to her new 'family'.
Chalice grew to be 15 without any real mishap in her new life. Each family member did something to help pay for their two apartments, so none of the 50 kids in the family had to live on the streets anymore. Chalice worked for a cargo loading factory, where she lugged boxes to and from trucks for 10 hours a day and got $8.50 for it. Her manners are horrible, she's wild and mouthy, too skinny for her height but streetwise. |
