The Volunteer
Do you see that man just standing there Without any fear or pain? He looks to be like everyone else With just another name. But the man you see is special You can see it in his eyes. For they betray the emotion That others know as pride. His pride is not just for himself But for others he has known. For the men & women he works with And the courage he has shown. Though in you first impression He looks to have no fear, His job is to brave the dangers And save all those who're near. This man is one of many Whose courage has no end. So drink a toast to all of them, And be glad to call them friend. Yes drink a toast to all of them, Shake each and evey hand. For the eyes you see so full of pride Are the eyes of a fireman. |
