International guide for muggle born children

By Cedric

A guide for muggle born children has been made by the cooperation of many
countries. The guide is entitled The Magic World and is currently being sent
to all soon-to-be students, who have muggle parents. The aim is to bring muggle
born children up to speed on the magic world, as there are still many children
out there being born and living, without any knowledge of the magic world.
To remedy this and to emotionally better prepare the children before going to a
magic school, they will receive this guide one month prior to their acceptance
to a school.
Here at the Witch Weekly we have gotten hold of one of these guides, an English
version. The following is from one of the chapters in the guide:

"Besides wizards and witches also strange creatures exist in this world of ours.
To name a few; basilisks, centaurs, dragons, goblins, hellhounds, kneazles,
pixies, sea serpents, trolls, unicorns, vampires and werewolves.
In the back of this guide you will find a list, including descriptions, of the
different creatures.
Do not be alarmed, even though many of these creatures can be very dangerous if
not handled properly. These creatures do not roam free anywhere near muggles, at least not without strict surveillance.

Here is a part of another chapter from the guide:

The Ministry of Magic is the governmental authority of the Wizarding World in
Britain. Its purpose is to keep the muggles from finding out about the magic
world. The Ministry has its headquarters in London. It consists of numerous
Departments, Committees, Boards, and Offices whose job it is to make and enforce
laws and regulations. Besides keeping the activities of Witches and Wizards
hidden from the Muggles the Ministry also handles commerce and international
relations.
The Wizengamot is the High Wizard Court, a body which serves as the ultimate
arbiter of justice for the Wizarding World.
Similar governmental bodies are located in other countries too.

The guide is a small white book that fits into a pocket. Before opening it, the
child merely speak the word of its own language, as English, and all text
within the guide will appear in the chosen language. True, the guide still does
not cover all languages, but this is being worked on.

Also appearing in the back is a list of phone numbers to magical hot-lines, of
course one for each country. These are designed to help out the children
uncovering the magic world and as a possibility for them to ask questions. The
children can also be redirected, if they wish, to other brand new wizards and
witches to talk to someone who is just as new to the update they have just
received.
