A new voice, a new star *drumroll please!* I now present, a new Star, a new Spotlight Girl, the new girl! Cho Chang! Cho Chang started singing in street concerts from the young age of 8. She started taking voice studies under the supervision of Barbra Milanquish. She participated in small festivals and always had positive results, winning "The Best Voice", "Best Personality" and other titles. Composers and authors started contacting her and offering her original songs. She chose from the songs, with the help of her voice teacher and her parents. Later on, her brother started writing lyrics for songs too, and, of course, some of Cho's songs are written by him - Ernie Chang. Personally, he's kinda hot, too, but that's a different story. Now back to this. Cho also had the opportunity to participate in musicals. These were great experiences for her because she even made friends with singers who were already well-known in her country and abroad. She also learnt a lot about theatre tips. Her last achievement was on 13th May, 2006, where she passed to the finals of a very famous festival in her country. The name of this festival is "Ghanja tal-Poplu" where all the songs where in her mother language - Maltese. As you can probably tell, her mother country is indeed, Malta! She sang the song "Dak Bla Glekk", written and composed by Augusto Cardinali. From 151 entries for this famous festival, she was one of the 16 finalists, and apart from that, she won the BEST INTERPRETATION AWARD and also obtained 2nd placing!!! She was really happy about it since there were many other famous singers competing with her. Between her and the singer who placed 1st, there was only a difference of 9 points! However, Cho is very happy about her accomplishment and wanted to share it with all the Witch Weekly readers! Cho is currently attending the great� Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and she would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, especially her Head of House Professor Lily and her Headmistress Professor Alba Dumbledore for understanding her need to work also on her singing career and for letting her take some days off sometimes to go and do some shows around the world!
