Ton-Tongue Toffee By Taylor Preparation time: 30 minutes Ingredients: 2 Cups of sugar 8 Tablespoons of butter � Teaspoons of vanilla extract 1 � Cups of water Candy thermometer Instructions: 1. Place all ingredients in a heavy saucepan. 2. Stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. 3. Stop stirring and bring to a boil and the temperature reaches 290 degrees on a candy thermometer. 4. Pour into a buttered 9x12 inch pan. 5. Let cool until almost firm to the touch. 6. Mark into 2 inch squares with a sharp knife. 7. When cool break into squares or shards. |
