The Weird Sisters New Year Concert
By Raelyn

The New Year starts with a blast as The Weird Sisters, consisting of Heathcote Barbary on rhythm guitar, Gideon Crumb on bagpipes, Kirley MsCormack Duke on lead guitar, Merton Graves on cello, Orsino Thruston on drums, Donogham Tremlett on bass, Herman Wintringham on lute and Myron Wagtail as lead singer, put up their first outdoor concert of the year. Tickets sold out in no time but luckily for me, I managed to get one. And they were not cheap.

Heres an overview of what happened if you didnt get to go to the concert!

It started at roughly 7.30 pm. The crowd was roaring as the band entered. Dressed in their usual ripped black robes, they really set the mood with their very first song. Everyone was either dancing away or swaying to the music. Song after song, they performed marvelously. Only one glitch occurred in which a string on the guitar, that Heathcote Barbary held, broke but the rest of the band didnt let it bother them as they played on. The guitar was also swiftly switched.

Their music remains as one of the best and each song was performed nearly effortlessly. A total of roughly 12 songs were played and there was even a special appearance by Celestina Warbeck who sang a song from her latest album You Stole My Cauldron but you Can't Have my Heart". I enjoyed it to the very last second. Every Knut spent on the ticket was worth it. And in my opinion, The Weird Sisters are truly performers. Keeping themselves composed on stage and not panicking when a problem arises. Only true performers could pull that off.

Lastly, as a New Years gift, everyone at the concert received a Weird Sisters poster for free. Cant wait to put mine up in the dorm!
