Hogsmeade -By Ariene

Many of us have spent countless hours wandering the paths in this magical village. Weekends away from Hogwarts are filled with fun and excitement. Hogsmeade is the only established entire wizarding village in Britain. Located in close proximity to Hogwarts, this village is quaint and pleasing to the eye. Records show that Hogsmeade was founded around the same time that the five founders of Hogwarts united and founded the magical school. We can thank a certain Hengist of Woodcroft as founder of Hogsmeade. Hengist was in a spot of trouble and in an attempt to flee pursuing Muggles, created a town solely for folks of the magical kind. Hogsmeade Station is the bloodline of this tiny village. The Hogwarts Express rolls into the station every year on September 1st bringing back new and old students.

Walking among the streets of Hogsmeade you will find a variety of notable establishments. Some of the more famous places to visit are Madam Rosmertas The Three Broomsticks, Zonkos Joke Shop, Honeydukes Sweetshop and the spooky Shrieking Shack. Only those students in third year and above, of course with the proper-signed parental permission form are allowed into Hogsmeade. As a first year, I can only report on what Ive read and heard from those students that have ventured into the village. Hogsmeade is truly a notable wizarding place in our world
