Tear for Light
As the sun rises,
and the stars appear,
the darkness settles around
me. The heat gets very near.
I look out the window,
a cracked memory of light,
and I wish on the brightest
star. It's the middle of the night.
I think of you, alone,
how I could bring a tear
to your eye. I know I can
do better. For you I will try.
The sun sheds a tear,
and I take it from it's eye,
I put it in a bottle,
it will never dry.
It's brightness echoes round me,
shadows dance from the past,
and as I sit and watch the show,
the sun fades at last.
The stars are out for infinity,
they shine all day and night,
