Dont Leave Me Please
I watch the blood trickle down the window,
and the rain runs down my arms,
the pulse drumming in my head,
to the beat of the rain outside.
You phone me up and my breath is ragged,
you know what Ive done and rush round,
you stay with me all night and finally get
me into the casualty rooms.
When theyve stopped the blood,
and stabilized my body,
you threaten to leave,
I cant live without you.
You turn it around and,
say I wont live at all,
I cry, you stay, I love you,
I cant carry on without you.
It never occurs to me you might die,
I never think of what happens if you leave,
or just disappear without a trace
oh look, its raining blood again.
