A Memory
You're a drop in the ocean,
but in the big wide world,
you're meaningless, you're nothing,
you're an imaginary girl.
But I'm real is what I say,
I know I'm here and alive,
I will grow up, get a job,
and work nine til five.
But I fade as time goes on,
I fade and blur and tear,
and I realise that I once was,
but now I'm just not there.
Nobody knows I was alive,
so who will notice I've gone,
and I'll fade and go away,
just as time moves on.
Time will tick by slowly,
but I am fading fast,
then I realise that all I am,
is a shadow of the past.
I was real once, and
now I can move on,
and if I'm remembered forever,
I won't be forever gone.
So don't forget I'm real,
though I'm not always seen,
but I'll dance on the tip of your tongue,
