| In Rattle and Pounce, magic is made possible by the mystical channels hidden in the earth called Auralines. They are invisible, all-powerful veins of coloured light that mages draw powers from, and without them, no magic would exist. Using magic is a purely natural phenomenon, as a person cannot be taught how to find and use Auralines, they have to learn it themselves.
