"She's gone!" said Scottso to the other rats. "How are we going to escape?" said Ophelia, "Weve never been in a cage before." "Hey don't you worry, people in Kansas keep their rats in cages all the time. We had escaped from our cage back home and gone outside to play when the storm came. Of course it was always Mars who figured out how to get us back into the cage before our humans returned home, so I'm sure I can figure something out." Scottso was just wishing that his brothers were here to help him when he saw the three brothers climb in the window and scurry over to the cage. "Boy am I glad to see you!" sighed Scottso, "Quick Mars, get us out!" In no time Mars had all the rats out of the cage and they were headed to the window when the witch returned, thinking she had smelled new rats in her castle.

She darted towards Otis thinking she would eat him first but Elwood ran behind the witch and bit her on the tail. The witch turned to attack Elwood but the other rats ran and grabbed her tail and hat, running in circles until the witch was airborne and then released her, causing her to crash into the wall. The thump she made when she landed caused a small snow globe to fall from the shelf and hit the witch on the head. To the amazements of the rats the globe did not break but became enormous and the witch disappeared into the globe becoming it's captive.
