Guyra is situated in the New England District of Australia. The New England Plateau is the largest
highland area in Australia, and is situated in northern New South Wales. Guyra is approximately 621 km north of Sydney and 428km south of Brisbane. At an elevation of 1325 metres (4346ft), Guyra is the highest town in Australia. Australia's highest perment settlement is located at Cabramurra 1475metres in the Snowy Mountains.
