* 1887: Captain Kund ventures into the southern hinterland.
* 1890: Captain Morgen extends exploration of southern Cameroon until reaching the site of what is to be Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon.
* 1898: Rich rubber deposits are discovered in southeastern Cameroon; soon the area becomes an economic powerhouse.
* 1902: The border with French Equatorial Africa is firmly defined, and Cameroon is fully explored to the northern tip. The Governor's Villa is built.
* 1909: A mass inoculation effort is coordinated, along with an expeditious construction of hospital wards.
* 1915-1916: German forces are overrun by a push into Cameroon from all sides by French, British, and Belgian troops. Cameroon is divided between Britain and France.
* Cameroon today is the only former German colony that supplies Germany with extensive agricultural produce and is hence a significant economic partner.
